When flames or smoke damage tear through a Afton home or business, every hour matters. Our local response teams are built to move fast and work clean.
We started Meridian Smoke Damage after watching Afton families get bounced between adjusters, contractors, and cleaning crews who didn't talk to each other. Our model puts one licensed team in charge of the fire damage removal, the smoke odor treatment, and the paperwork, so Afton, MN homeowners aren't managing three vendors during the worst week of the year.
Working the 55001 area day in and day out means our estimators can usually tell you, within reason, what your specific fire damage scope will involve before the adjuster even calls back.
Meridian Smoke Damage carries full general liability and workers' compensation coverage, and every Afton job includes a written scope of work before demolition or content removal starts — no verbal estimates, no surprise change orders buried in fine print.

Odor that hangs around 24 hours after the fire trucks leave usually means soot has already worked into drywall, insulation, and HVAC ductwork.
Black or yellow streaking near vents and ceilings signals airborne soot circulated through the whole structure, not just the room where the fire started.
Heat plus the water used to extinguish the fire is a fast track to warped floors and swollen cabinets if drying is delayed.
Smoke residue is acidic — hardware, appliances, and electronics can start pitting or corroding within 48 hours if untreated.
Airborne particulates from smoke residue can trigger respiratory irritation long after visible flames are gone.
Most Afton, MN policies require documented mitigation within a set window — waiting can jeopardize your claim.
None of these warning signs improve with time. The Afton properties that come out ahead are the ones where mitigation started within hours, not days, of the fire being extinguished.
