We started Meridian Smoke Damage after watching Afton families get bounced between adjusters, contractors, and cleaning crews who didn't talk to each other. Our model puts one licensed team in charge of the fire damage removal, the smoke odor treatment, and the paperwork, so Afton, MN homeowners aren't managing three vendors during the worst week of the year.
Our 55001 service radius around Afton means shorter response windows and technicians who already know local building codes, permit offices, and the insurance adjusters who work this area regularly.

Odor that hangs around 24 hours after the fire trucks leave usually means soot has already worked into drywall, insulation, and HVAC ductwork.
Black or yellow streaking near vents and ceilings signals airborne soot circulated through the whole structure, not just the room where the fire started.
Heat plus the water used to extinguish the fire is a fast track to warped floors and swollen cabinets if drying is delayed.
Untreated soot residue is acidic enough to corrode metal hardware and electronics in as little as two days.
Airborne particulates from smoke residue can trigger respiratory irritation long after visible flames are gone.
Most Afton, MN policies require documented mitigation within a set window — waiting can jeopardize your claim.
None of these warning signs improve with time. The Afton properties that come out ahead are the ones where mitigation started within hours, not days, of the fire being extinguished.
Rapid emergency mitigation — securing the structure, pulling standing water, and stabilizing the site — starts the same day we're called.
